History

Our Story

MAVAN, s.r.o. was founded in 2007 and has been running a full welding operation in Žilina since 2009. Over that time we have grown from a small specialist workshop into a trusted industrial partner for clients across Slovakia and beyond.

Our showroom, production workshop and registered office are all located at Rajecká 17, 010 01 Žilina, Slovakia.

Our senior engineers hold the IWE/EWE international welding engineer certificates and NDT Level 2 qualifications to EN ISO 9712 (VT2, PT2, MT2, UT2). Our quality management system is certified to EN ISO 3834-2 and ISO 9001; we are also approved for pressure equipment welding under PED 2014/68/EU.

Mário is the founder of MAVAN and a certified IWE/EWE welding engineer. He founded the company in 2007 and has led every major project since. He is responsible for technical project management, weld quality supervision and all certification processes.

Martin Rák – Welding Technologist, MAVAN

Welding Technologist

Martin prepares and optimises welding procedure specifications (WPS) and manages the day-to-day technical execution of orders. He specialises in TIG and MIG/MAG welding of structural steels and stainless steel.

Ján Obona – Structural Technologist & NDT Inspector, MAVAN

Structural Technologist · NDT

Ján handles the structural preparation of projects – reading and interpreting engineering drawings – and simultaneously performs NDT weld inspection using Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) methods in accordance with EN ISO 9712.

IWE / EWE

International Welding Engineer (IWE) and European Welding Engineer (EWE) – the highest professional welding qualification under EN ISO 14731. Issued by the International Institute of Welding (IIW).

NDT EN ISO 9712

Non-Destructive Testing – Level 2 qualification in four methods: Visual Testing (VT2), Penetrant Testing (PT2), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT2) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT2). All performed in-house without subcontractors.

PED 2014/68/EU

Authorisation for welding of pressure equipment under European Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU. Required for the manufacture and repair of pressure vessels, pipework and pressure-bearing assemblies.

QMS ISO 3834-2 / ISO 9001

Welding quality management system to EN ISO 3834-2 (comprehensive requirements) and general quality management system to ISO 9001. Fully documented processes, material and weld traceability throughout production.
